Paribus? Is it worth it?
Tis' the season... the season of needing every extra penny..
We live in a new day in age, most of us have come to terms with many major companies knowing us better than our parents do. We also know these companies fail us on a daily basis. So where to we draw the line?
This holiday season I seem to continuously find myself exploring the next level of getting personal with these companies. I have a habit of shopping early but then weeks later there is a better deal. It kills me but so does risking not getting the item before it sells out. Which is when these new companies sparked my interest. They claim to get you the money back for these purchases with no effort on your part. Ok, they've peaked my interest but they want full access to my emails and need to read, write and delete them according to gmail. Like many people that stresses me out to no end...my emails really? Well paribus claims they just read orders and send emails on your behalf and that they will never delete them. For me, my email isn't that interesting its mostly promo and shipping confirmations and they only want the email you do your shopping on if you have multiple email addresses.
I also looked into doing the process myself...
So this is Walmart's site for it. The biggest problem I have is... yes i caught this one but who has time to do this all the time.
So...
I started using Paribus, it's the second site of this kind I've tried. The first one was a bust or I didn't give it long enough either way I didn't trust it and it took a cut of what the found. Paribus took longer than they claim but after a few days it's already working for me.
It put a request in for the toy that I was joining because of, I had seen it drop $4 in price and wanted to figure out how all these sites work...
So they automatically put your request in. Now that I've seen the process through at least with Walmart it's as easy as sending a email...
This is the email they send on your behalf from your email address...
This was sent at 12:52 PM by 2:52 PM I had received 2 emails back from Walmart...
It was half the amount submitted but the refunds are at the stores discretion. So that can be a Walmart thing or Paribus but Paribus claims they don't charge you and i see no signs of them getting a cut so 🤷♀️ Either way I'm getting something back and didn't have to do any of the work..
So far Paribus gets ***** 5/5
**I will advise that it works better if all of your purchase emails are in the inbox and not a folder, I believe this was part of my hold up.**
